Soft Tissue Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid-Based)

• Aim: To restore or enhance facial shape and volume, improve skin appearance and support each individual's unique features.
• Outcome: To restore volume lost through the ageing process (rejuvenation) or subtly enhance specific features (beautification), always aiming for a natural-looking result.
• How: Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are carefully injected into specific areas of the face by a qualified clinician, using either a needle or cannula depending on the area being treated and the clinical assessment.
• Areas to target: Medial and lateral cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin, jawline, temples, lips, fine lines and wrinkles, and tear troughs (under-eye hollows).
• Appointment time: Varies according to the treatment. A typical dermal filler appointment takes approximately 60 minutes, allowing time for consultation, preparation and, where appropriate, local anaesthetic.
• What to expect: Redness, swelling, tenderness or a temporary numb sensation may occur immediately after treatment. Bruising can also occur. These are common short-term effects following injections and generally improve within a few days. Ideally, allow at least one week before an important event.

• Lip treatments can cause more pronounced and longer-lasting swelling. Swelling may last up to one week, and the lips may appear temporarily uneven during this period. The immediate appearance is not the final result; as swelling settles, the initial volume will reduce. Lips may take approximately 4-6 weeks to fully settle.

• Results: An improvement can usually be seen immediately. The result continues to evolve over the following weeks as the hyaluronic acid integrates into the treated area and any swelling subsides.
• Duration: Typically around 9-18 months, depending on the product, treatment area, individual metabolism, lifestyle and other factors.
• Brands: Belotero, Juvederm, Teosyal.

Dark circles around the eyes

• Aim: To reduce the appearance of under-eye hollows and dark circles where volume loss is a contributing factor.
• Outcome: To restore volume subtly and create a fresher, more rested appearance while maintaining a natural result.
• How: A carefully selected hyaluronic acid-based product, such as Teosyal Redensity II, may be used to treat volume loss in the tear trough. An experienced clinician uses a cannula following a thorough assessment.

• In some patients, volume loss in the mid-face contributes to the appearance of the under-eye area. Treating the mid-face can sometimes restore a more refreshed appearance without injecting directly beneath the eyes.

• Areas to target: Under-eye area (tear trough).
• Appointment time: Approximately 60 minutes.
• What to expect: An improvement may be visible immediately. The appearance continues to change as any swelling settles and the product integrates into the tissues.
• Risks involved: The tear trough is a delicate anatomical area and requires particular care. Treatment is undertaken conservatively; generally, no more than one syringe of Teosyal Redensity II is advised per treatment session.

• As with all injectable treatments, potential complications exist. Please read the Adverse Events section below and discuss suitability and risks with your clinician before treatment.

• Duration: Approximately 18 months, although individual results vary.

Wrinkle Relaxing Treatment

• Aim: efficiently reduce wrinkles and also for health benefits
• Outcome: To smooth your skin wrinkles, giving you a refreshed look
• How: with a naturally occurring toxin, our experienced clinician injects a small amount into the targeted areas to relax the muscles
• Areas to target: Forehead , Frown lines, Crow's feet (around eyes), Smoke's lines (around mouth), Neck , Gummy smile, Chin pebbling, Lifting corners of mouth, Bruxism (teeth grinding or clenching), Migraine, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Under arms (hyperhidrosis)
• Appointment time: usually around 30-40 minutes
• What to expect of the treatment: a tiny prick. Local anaesthetic cream can be used to minimise tenderness
• Results: effects start around few days after treatment. Full results expected in 2 weeks. It targets mainly dynamic wrinkles. The static and long-term wrinkles take longer to soften, for this reason more regularly and frequently you have the treatment, better the smoothing outcome in the long-term
• Duration: around 3-4 months depending on each individual as muscles regain their normal movements

Bruxism (Teeth Grinding/Clenching)

• Aim: To reduce teeth grinding and clenching. Many times associated to headaches, migraines and earache
• Outcome: To reduce tooth wear, fracture and risks of traumatic resorption. It can also reduce the severity of symptoms (e.g. pain) caused by grinding and clenching of the teeth
• How: With a naturally occurring toxin, our experienced clinician inject a small amount into the area. This will gradually reduce muscle hyperactivity and tension.

• It is highly recommended (and included in your treatment) a review in 2 weeks, as more toxin application may be necessary

• Areas to target: masseter and temporalis muscles
• Appointment time: around 30-40 min
• What to expect: You will be injected in the masseter and temporalis muscle so that this reduces their ability to contract (and clench/grind teeth). The number of injections will depend on the muscle size in patients. This will be decided following a thorough assessment by our clinician. You will be able to continue with your busy schedule after your treatment
• Results: After a few days, with an improvement more noticeable after 4-6weeks. This treatment can significantly stop grinding and clenching for 6-9 months. In addition, slimming of squared jaws is a bonus

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

• Aim: To reduce excessive sweating in areas where hyperhidrosis affects daily life.
• Outcome: To significantly reduce sweating in the treated area for a period of time.
• How: Small amounts of purified botulinum toxin are injected into the targeted area, temporarily reducing the activity of the sweat glands.
• Areas to target: Underarms, hands and face.
• Appointment time: Approximately 30-40 minutes.
• What to expect: The treatment involves multiple small injections into the affected area. Topical local anaesthetic cream may be used where appropriate to minimise discomfort.
• Results: A significant reduction in sweating may develop over the following days and can last approximately 3-6 months, depending on the individual and treatment area.
• Brands: Botox (Allergan) and Azzalure (Galderma).

Profhilo

• Aim: To provide intense moisture to the skin which helps lines, wrinkles and skin tone. Profhilo helps to improve skin texture, hydration and overall radiance.
• Outcome: To stimulate all 4 types of collagen and also elastin. To have deep hydration of the skin which improve firmness, elasticity and the softness of the skin. Giving back a glow to your skin.

• Some patients with very dry skin, presenting breakdown during winter, pleasantly reported not experiencing this condition anymore after Profhilo maintenance.

Suitability for Treatment

TOXINS

You may NOT be suitable for treatment if

• Pregnant or breast-feeding. Also not recommended for the ones undergoing IVF

• Botulinum toxin is generally only recommended to those aged between 25-65 years-old, although it may be used off-licence for people outside this range

• Have keloid scarring or if you have an active skin condition (such as acne, psoriasis, skin infection)

• Have neurological disorders like myasthenia gravis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or any history of muscle weakness

• Auto-immune diseases (immune-related)

• Active skin infection near the treatment area, including cold sores

• Any other infection including dental, throat, ear, chest or sinus infection

• Unwell, including coughs and colds on the day of treatment

• Taking medicines like gentamicin, clindamycin, tobramycin, netilmicin and amikaci

• If you're taking medicines that affect bleeding, such as aspirin, clopidogrel, warfarin/rivaroxaban

• Please consider all the above and discuss with the qualified professional treating you.

FILLERS

You may NOT be suitable for treatment if

• Pregnant or breast-feeding. Also not recommended for the ones undergoing IVF

• Keloid scarring or if you have an active condition (such as acne, psoriasis, skin infection)

• Medical conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune conditions, blood clotting disorders, cancer, immunosuppression (medical or immune-related)

• Auto-immune diseases (immune-related)

• Active cold sores in case of looking for lip treatment

• Any other infection including skin, dental, throat, ear, chest or sinus infection

• Unwell, including coughs and colds on the day of treatment

• Taking medicines that affect bleeding: aspirin or warfarin/rivaroxaban

• Had Roaccutane or Isotretinoin in the past six months

• Certain allergies, like to lidocaine or bee/wasp sting

• Had recent facial surgery or dermal fillers in the same area

• Have permanent implants in the face or pins/plates

• Had previous rhinoplasty when considering nose treatment with soft tissue fillers

ADVERSE EVENTS

TOXINS possible adverse events (which may include and are not limited to):

• Mild swelling at the injection site (mosquito bite look), bruising, redness/ irritation/ inflammation (rash), headache, localised numbness sensation, lymphatic issues (puffiness around area applied), overflow of tears, sensitivity to light, dry eyes, double/blurred vision, difficulty closing eye, drooping of eyelid/brow (ptosis).

• Directly after treatment with injections, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and a numb sensation in the treated area. Occasionally bruising may occur around the treatment area. This is an average result of the injection. The irritation is short-term and in general vanishes in a day or two. If irritation continues or if any other reactions occur, please contact us immediately

FILLERS possible adverse effects (which may include and are not limited to)::

• Directly after treatment with injections, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and a numb sensation in the treated area. Occasionally bruising may occur around the treatment area. This is an average result of the injection. The irritation is short-term and in general vanishes in few days

• Beyond these, signs of infection, lumps (nodes) and herpes (cold sores) may appear especially if all post treatment instructions are not followed rigorously

• More rarely signs of a vascular occlusion (compromised blood supply) showing a mottling appearance of the skin (patchy and irregular marble aspect with purple, red and white colours)

• Extremely rare: signs of blindness and stroke. Blindness is a devastating complication and likely to be permanent, when reported it was associated to forehead and nose treatments
